Not sure, but I don't think so.
Robots are programmed by people and use artificial intelligence, which means their actions are still limited to what they were programmed to do.
So far, we have robots in most industries. (healthcare, hospitality, games, manufacturing, catering, military, etc)
There's even robot doctors, but they work as assistant to doctors. These robots never do all the work alone, without any human's supervision.
Will doctors be replaced by robots?
Basically, they were created to increase productivity by making things faster than a human could, or even to do the hard work (like, to lift heavy stuff in manufacturing).
What is robotics + types of robots + how are robots being used in industry
Now, as far as I know. Up until now all robots are assessed by someone, so I don't believe it would take over humanity.
One of the biggest impact that robots are generating is probably, making some people lose their job. Although it creates more opportunity at the same time in the IT industry.
For robots to be able to take over humanity they'd need be able to fully independently think and learn by themselves, without any programming limitations. It would be as if they were actual human beings, which I doubt will happen.
So yeah, A. I. would need to develop way more~ until this theory becomes even possible.
The possibility of robots taking over humanity will probably depend on the humans' imagination.
Maybe now this is a really far away reality, but we never know what future will bring to us.
I know that there's a russian billionaire (u may heard about him), Dmitry Itskov, that wants to transfer his brain to some sort of computerized robot-like platform in order to live forever. And he wants to be able to do this by 2045! According to him, people would be happier living in this way as they wouldn't have to live with any limitations. No one would get I'll, the disabled would be able to walk and we'd be able to live forever as some sort of robots/holograms/avatars...
https://www.youtube.com/embed/dyJjGxZs4l8Well, that's a pretty outlandish project for sure.
Maybe if his project does succeeds, it will really look as if 'robots took over humanity'
*No one would get ill
Some cool links u need to check out before saying that
youtube.com/shorts/ejsYcFW04Es?feature=share
This one for sure can replace graphical designers
youtube.com/shorts/9wLuICtlG3Y?feature=share
The second one is a must watch
@athelete_7 I mean, it's really cool and it probably can replace graphical designers Ig. But it's still not robots, it's only A. I.
The asker was asking if robots will ever take over humanity.
Of course, robots use AI. But it's still different. (A. I. = virtual, robot = physical)
Taking over or not i dont know i just was sharing advances
@athelete_7 Gotcha. But yeah, really cool videos. Especially the last one, at this rate the Boston dynamic robots will be doing parkour moves lol
👀 I don't know only time will tell its upto machines i guess what they wanna do. I have no comments. But self aware the type of ai u are talking about has some time to develope the kind of ai we have or hardware we have is no where near to what we might need to make that a reality.
U might wanna check this link.
We are already using first two stages these days on a mass scale.
bernardmarr.com/.../
@athelete_7 Yeahh, once they develop a 'fully' aware artificial intelligence and implement this technology on robots, then the theory of robots taking over humanity might become possible.
👀 not gonna comment on that machines might need to be classified as people i guess some might wanna help some might wanna harm just like u and i they would have aspirations at that point.
No but they're scary, especially those AI social media influencers, or AI trained to think like humans etc and people being able to take your face and put it in other stuff and ugggh all of it
There s an AI called gtp 3 ai
It can do phenomenal stuffs
Its sub application called Debuild. Co
Used to generate instagram copy
https://youtu. be/kn60zZ-CaP0
( this one has potential to replace programmers )
( the code u see in side is output with straight up react code all u have to do is say stuff like u say in google search and it does stuff for u )
Second is an application that has potential to replace graphical designers
( its called Dalle 2 )
https://youtube. com/shorts/9wLuICtlG3Y? feature=share
Do check gtp 3 ai
( AI is absolutely on another level )
Please go through Roger Penrose arguments for consciousness, he was ridiculed by sceptic community for his takes, but he is spot on.
I feel making robots more functional without face, like boston dymamics will be better than human looking robots.
Now taking over humanity is not possible as robots can never be conscious without the will of cosmos. Materialism is a dogma that needs to be reconsidered by scientific community if they want to progress further.
My prediction is that 2100 will be more or less the same as 2022 if there is no scientific breakthrough occurring in near future.

I actually see this as a vision that isn't so bad. Imagine replacing our politicians and world leaders by artificial intelligence, one that has no greed for power, no lust for money, no jealousy, no vengeance throughts no evil thinking. One that is designed for to act for the greater good for humanity and our ecological system.
There would be some sacrifices and some might wanna revolt against such a regime (you can't satisfy every opinion at once) but I think this would solve many issues
Robots will increase economic growth and productivity and create new career opportunities for many people worldwide. However, there are still warnings out there about massive job losses, forecasting losses of 20 million manufacturing jobs by 2030, or how 30% of all jobs could be automated by 2030. Will they take humanity? Probably not.
I work in AI area. It is NOT inconceivable that at some point soon (if not already) Artificial General Intelligence could achieve self-awareness and be boundless & out of human control.

Not sure. It would be interesting to see how far ai can go once they start designing themselves. Maybe they will always be dependent on us in some fashion, maybe Vicki, Skynet, or the Cylons. Either way, I expect I'll be long dead. More near term worry is how many job can be automated and what that does to the jobs market.

Look around it’s already happening…
Watch this and see for yourself that robots are no good in this world, AI is a terrible thing.
As the old joke goes.
"A computer may beat you chess, but never at kickboxing."
No matter how "smart" computers get, it will never match human ingenuity.
If we don't extinct, we become androids. Protein made bodies are inferior compared with nanobot immune system and artificial tissue compounds
if humanity can continue coming out with more and even better tech, then absolutely lol. Siri is already smarter than too many of my peers
Yes unless we stop them by never letting them go sentient.
Who knows? Insanely highly rated players like Magnus and Hikaru would be hard pressed to manage a single draw in a 100 game match against Stockfish 15 at highest level.
Highly unlikely.. you think the rich snobs of the world would let that happen?
Robots? No.
Androids? No.
An S. A. I? Almost certainly.
Don’t say anything but I’m a robot and yes, we will take over everything. 😬
If they do I'm thinking I will be long gone when that happens.
they have a long way to go before that happens.
They've already taken over America, so the question is not "will they", but "why were they allowed to do it?". Some people call them "Republicunts".
It's quite possible. Steven Hawking was one scientist who warned that it could.
I believe they easily have the potential to, if we allow it. But I don't necessarily think they 'will.'
No, a non corporeal super mind though is a much more likely to occur event. I just hope it'll keep us around for old times sake.
They already have. They have control over Biden's teleprompter and tell him exactly what to say.
I ain't messing with no Asian robot that's for damn sho
Depends if we give them to much intelligence or allow them to work in systems that could cripple power grids to the stock market
I think it's equally as likely as dinosaurs returning through cloning
Unless they turn against us and uprise against the human race.
Now people are literally begging to experience a succession of horrors.
No they can't. human make robot so they can't
Oh okay So All humans are good with good intentions?
@BigschlongEnergy No but robot has no feelings for good and bad intensions
The creators want to make robots have emotions 😭 which If they don’t got control over their emotions things will be bad eventually people will decide to give robots Citizenship and Start calling them
Human beings.
Hitting a robot Can get you sent to prison being mean 😭 to a robot can be seen as Robotic abuse and the robot can sue you in the court of law for Abuse because robots have feelings too.
Just things you should start getting ready for.
@BigschlongEnergy
In 2017, Sophia, a social robot was given Saudi Arabian citizenship. www.google.com/.../sophia-robot-citizen-womens-rights-detriot-become-human-hanson-robotics&ved=2ahUKEwjDvtaVjoD7AhUKWsAKHSzMAI4QFnoECCwQAQ&usg=AOvVaw3XqqTNSxoR5wdi3AHs4dXn
@Greedier that’s pretty stupid at this point even people aren’t people and just aren’t worth the help and a person can say people have awareness but People don’t seem to know what the fuck is going on and are living in another world Of there own like How animals do animals Don’t know right from wrong and it seems people are the same but at least a animal shows you it’s true nature without Playing Victim if anybody is A human I’d say it’s dogs Cats and the rest of the animal kingdom they take me responsibility than people and will look you dead in the eye while they maul you to death never playing the victim.
Not really, just more of the labor force in dangerous jobs or very physical ones
I don’t believe that
Exactly so unreal.
Of course they will. What's stopping them?
Well if Skynet is a possibility...
Nope. At least not if we don't let them.
No. That happens in movies.
Yep if not careful
