How do you get your text message history?

I met someone who fixes cars about a month maybe two months ago. They do great work and is cheap as well. I never saved his number I just texted him saying this is me. I made a mistake and deleted the thread. I remember what the first 3 numbers are. Is there anyway I can get the number back from getting my text history?

your service provider should be able to supply you txts and call history. I have got in the past. Deleted storage usually isn't deleted it is just marked as deleted. So it can be read unless it is overwritten. In the later case it is lost from the phone for ever.

You might be able to find someone with the equipment/software to dump the phones memory.

With android the messages could be on an sd card depending on how it was set up.
