What is an actual good VHS to digital converter?

I have tons of VHS to convert. Seen so many different types on Amazon, but a lot of them do not seem to work well. Are there any that actually work out there?

I use Pinnacle’s Dazzle device to capture SOME old VHS and camcorder tapes onto an MP4 file, which can be converted to DVD in Studio if I want. It works fine, but output quality depends on quality of the tape which a lot of times isn’t all that great.


My parents have a lot of VHS movies and home video on camcorder tapes. I was raised watching a lot of the old movies. I have selectively converted some family home videos that I want to keep, but I am not going to spend hours converting old MGM musical tapes to digital. I keep a VHS player on hand for when I want to watch them.

Does Dazzle still exists? I've looked only 1 available and people say it doesn't work on windows 10. I use to have one back in early 2000s never got it to work. Would crash my PC. I'd think they would have a updated version..

You might want to look at one of the more expensive VCR/DVD or VCR/Blu-ray combo units. Either use the digital part to record to DVD or use the digital output to create files.

I have something like this. But can't hook it up to PC. I don't have dvd, blue drives anymore lol. Actually I'm not even sure if I'm able to record the VHS on to the dvd part.

I am sure you are. Copying the VHS content over to DVD and/or harddrive was the primary business case of these machines.

Lol , I have way too many hours of VHS to do. Been ages I've been trying to find a way that works well.
