What is the most valuable life lesson you've learned from using social media?

At the end of the day, it will be your thoughts and another person’s or people’s thoughts.

You can’t do much else with them, unless- I suppose- you and they were local, and ended up being frequent and local friends.

There is something about digital, that just gets in the way of building anything compatible. 🤦‍♀️

The obvious sign, nearly universally, is that social cues are a miss, even if some emojis are intentionally used.

Social media is one big “social talk.”

It’s not anybody ever living life as it should be lived. 🤷‍♀️

People (all of us) will always need our ‘hands-on.’

• Seizing and being hands on with opportunities and goals. 💪
• Hands on hands, in lovers holding hands 🤝
• Hands on shoulders for friends 🤜🤛
• Hands on lovers or other, bodies for that enjoyment factor. 🫂

You won’t get any of that here.

Your ideas and thoughts will be heavily tested and/or you will be passed on as tolerable or “made it.” Meaning you won’t be able to steadily develop your concepts and theories all the time, and sometimes you won’t be encouraged to grow.

People on social media 10/10 times will make it “your thoughts vs. my thoughts.”

Whoever is mentally stronger will last, but the stubborn will hold their beliefs, and at the end of the day, something from each side will break off/ away. More so if it’s not replaced/ rebuilt with something solid.

social media isn’t a social life at all.

It’s not guaranteed to always be a friendly conversation.

People on social media, will not always be willing to take the time to get to know you. They will press labels on you.

They will try to fit you into any of the concepts of the negative aspects of society like woke and cancel culture.

Actually Society altogether.

Social media is more Societal oriented/minded, than community oriented/minded.

Nothing here will change your life, unless you can change your life entirely on a single thought or set of thoughts.

You can definitely learn from it, but it won’t give you drive.

It could… for those with fighting spirits and fiery hearts who face the opposition of the media.

Media does not equal family. Ever.

Media does not equal the die-hard friendship.

Media does not equal romance.

Media does not equal a sex-date.

Media will always be one large conversation with the hurting/bored/ “in limbo”/ curious/ upset individuals

and if you’re lucky, you’ll meet the ones who share light hearted jokes, social life tips, and experiences they’ve had.

Conversation. Stories. Thoughts.

At the end of the day we all go back to our families and friends in our world.

So don’t expect much from media. Regardless of country/ state/ or a person’s age even.

Trust me, I know.

I have had years of experience with media and observations. Gutsy honesty. Brave defended passions. Deep questions. And interactions with plenty of people. Amazing personalities and some not as much.

Age really doesn’t matter because I even had a 64 year old ghost me..

Yeah. I’m sure he wasn’t even familiar with the term 😂.

Media will never be anything like a support system,

unless you found someone truly reciprocal, consistent, willing to make life happen together. Otherwise that’s two like-minded individuals as pen pals, commentating on what they experience in their own daily life to the other.

Where does that lead?

Yeah, so nothing at all as a catalyst. Just a place MAYBE you can gather some ideas from.

That’s the best-case scenario.

Up to you on the follow back. Will see how I go forward with social media. I’ve learned much, and still have that much more to learn- really just the next phase for me being clearly self control. It’s a serious addiction for a plethora of reasons.

It may feel good… but it’s not always a bringer of good.

I will say I am a fool for thought, so that may be the thing that’s keeps me. Will see.

I'm glad you've taken the positive side of it though, Pollyanna's are rare and should be cherished. I feel I must add that my experience here- more giving of honest advice and avoiding negative thought patterns- has been an asset in my career so far and I'm enjoying my time socializing with others on this site. I fully agree that this is not a substitute for actual interaction, and as long as I don't let myself pretend it is, I think I'm going to be okay.
