Is YouTube helpful or harmful to you?

I find it's more helpful to me. I'm an F1 fan and as a woman, I'm only one of a few who enjoys the sport with no one else in my life including the guys caring about it, so I found some great channels on youtube and some great users who love it as much as I do. I'm very selective about the content and users I follow though because there is such a bad element out there with people that just go on to troll or spread hate/negativity, but the channels I follow don't tolerate that, and work hard to eliminate as much as they can so the experience is enjoyable to participate in. I also find it always helpful if I need to learn something---a recipe, how to play something on piano, a glam make-up look...the possibilities are endless.

When schools had to teach remotely, it was very helpful. There are many kids learning songs for letters, sounds, counting, etc. Now before I could just post that link in my Google Classroom, I had to turn it into a safe link through sites like video. link so that the kids couldn't venture away from that specific page, it also prevented them from being exposed to unwanted ads. So yes, for my job, YouTube was amazingly helpful.

For myself, I use YouTube for music.

As far as things like tutorials go it can be helpful for things like vehicle repair if you need to take off your inner door cover and work on stuff inside the door, things like that it's helpful.

As for everything else, well it's entertainment so I guess it's helpful for my boredom.

The website itself is entirely neutral to me; I can't access it. I AM bothered by the vast crowds that seem to base themselves there instead of somewhere more ethical, but I can't blame the site for the actions of its users.

How is it harmful? I hardly ever get distracted by the side suggestions, and I just stick to the stuff I regularly watch. The stuff I watch is helpful, and the free music aspect is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

It’s helpful to me because I like to watch videos about wildlife and how they survive/die. How much food they have to constantly eat or else. Other videos I like to watch makes me realize how girls think and act
