My iphone is relatively old, bought in 2018. I've accidentally dropped it a few times, no major cracks or anything. I spilled water all over it today, it worked just fine for about 5 minutes and suddenly shut down. It's been flashing the apple logo for about half an hour now, I tried charging, forced restarting etc. Nothing worked. I'm freaking out. Someone please please help.
Nobody can say what has been damaged by a short circuit, if anything. If it were an item where you can take the battery out, I would have said, soak it in spiritus/isopropyl alcohol and let it dry out in a warm place for 48 hours. But here, better bring it to a service provider with the proper work tools.

Did you turn it off and put it in silica packs or rice? It will be damaged if you don’t do that right away
My advice is to stay away from those high-end phones. You can get a very good Android for half of a replacement screen cost on an iPhone.

Turn it off and put it in a bag of rice. You may have some moisture in the phone. Leave it for a day or two and try turning it on again.
Don't know iphones but water is bad with electronics. You can get reverse electrolysis which eats the copper tracks off. Charging would make that worse. Once upon a time you could take the battery out and dry the device.
You could try putting it in rice to absorb moisture.
Re-iterating I don't iphone but I think it will be a goner. My samsung died because I had it in my pocket on a hot day and I sweat.bag of rice like everyone says.. Did you have it in a case?
