The conveyer belt. Without it, goods would be in short supply. Food would be hard to come by, there would be very few people driving, and everyone would have to do a lot more work. There would be more jobs, but the economy would be unbalanced.

Telephones. They expidited humanity so much it's hard to believe. But all progress we think of as modern today, pretty much happens as a result of people being able to easily communicate with eachother no matter where one is in relation to the other.

The water wheel. Using mechanical force to achieve tasks that up until then had only been done by animals or people. That gave rise to the trip hammer, which built the piston which built the steam engine, which built the internal combustion engine. This also allowed electric power by creating powered generation, remember that tesla used a water wheel in his power generation experiments.

Not technically a machine I know. The sewing needle. It was the single most important invention for letting humans spread into temperate climates. Even today you can only really exist because your clothes fit rather than just drape over you

  Of course, there is! Henry Ford was amazing
  But the asker asked about inventions that I found the most important. I say washing machines are more needed than cars because I am crazy about cleanliness. So, I do my laundry way too often even I change my drapes and bedsheets too often than normally people do. So, it's like a life necessity for me everyday, lol. James King is my most favourite person in terms of inventions then come others 😅 Also, correct me if I'm wrong wasn't Karl Benz was the one who invented car?

The first furnace. Without them we wouldn't have pure metals and the inventions that uses them. Things like wheels and fire isn't machines neither is writing.

  I love that the reason the vibrator was invented was because doctors were swamped and getting carpel tunnel syndrome from treating "female hysteria".
  Can you imagine today telling your husband or boyfriend you have to go to the doctor to get finger blasted because he's not doing it right.
