How do you tell if the debt collector is fake?

I get these text messages claiming I have a mobile bill from 2 years ago. The text send me a link to their website but it appears to only have a wire money transfer and not much information on the website. They also leave me voicemails but the voice is from a computer and not a real person. I keep getting harassed from these people what should I do

As always just tell them that you want evidence of the debt or you can not in good faith pay it.

They will absolutely need to provide this if they want to push it anyway and should have it available. When they do it should also clearly list your information and you can double check for everything.

Do a quick google on them to find out if they are legit. Even if they are, ask for the receipts. Always should.

Debt collectors don’t text lol they call. They’re trying to get their money now, they don’t have time text passively. They want to annoy you until you pay. Texting is too easy to ignore

if its a text massage its fake... you probably fell for the scam already by clicking on it.

If its official they will always sent a mail, ... maybe email as well.

There are a lot of scam text massages going around lately, also with text like " we need your help delivering your order... click here..."

Just ignore them, don't open them, block the number.

The website just seems to have very little information as you can see the side section just shows payment option only

That one looks legit to me, but they should be able to tell you what the debt is about and this debt should be something you know about.

The voice mails are often fake, if its legit they should be able to tell you on whose behalf and you should have had prior payment bills from that organization.

Yeah nothing by mail at all only getting a lot of text messages. The website doesn’t seem legit either hardly any information and just seems to only have a side bar with a wire money transfer

I don't have debt I don't have full control over so they are all fake.

Pull your credit report. If it's a legit bill it'll show up on there.
