We didn't have the electronic devices that track every move we make

Do you remember using a payphone to call collect and in a few second tell whoever that your ready to be picked up?

Heck if you were poor enough and your family couldn't afford a phone. You had the CB radio to use as you would a. Cellphone

The Internet and cellphones ruined everything. We had it made

I like how times were much simpler then and I did use the CB like it was a cellphone and when I became an amateur radio operator I was also able to access a phone patch through a repeater if I needed to but obviously it’s not a private call. Smart phones have made it easier for me at my job though in getting things done quicker and finding things or people to get my deliveries done, sure made a lot of wrong turns and wasted time trying to find deliveries when only using a map , had to use pay phones a lot back then and not always available. Surprisingly they got rid of most of them and not everyone will let you use their phone if you don’t have one or lost it

I miss those days for my children. They're slaves to technology. Their books are online, their assignments are online. Missing school or a weekend is no excuse to not get an assignment turned in electronically that was posted to Google Classroom last minute by the instructor.

Nearly all of their social life revolves around online/social media posts and invitations.

As a parent, I have missed some parental involvement in school events because I didn't see the fb post (I don't use fb).

We're all under constant surveillance. Just look at the tops of the traffic lights, street lights, bridges, stores, and homes... even the freeways.

Alllll the time. I’m so glad I grew up before this was a thing. I feel bad for kids these days and for my future kids. What happened to having your friends randomly show up at your door all the time to hang out 🥺. Now they’re obsessed with Snapchat scores and whatever.

I liked the times because the world was not a crazy place like it is today. I think the internet has made life easier. It is too bad that it has been misused.

I just got a smart phone a year ago. To me it is amazing that it can play music and videos. take pictures, send email, record audio and video, scan bar codes, access the World Wide Web, and many other things.
