Can someone please tell me how this is possible?

The 2 new batteries in my small alarm clock did not need replaced for exactly 3 1/2 years. until tonight. How is this possible... literally they lasted 3 1/2 years... never been changed not once, ever. thanks...

Batteries can last a long, long time in clocks.

I use batteries that I've taken out of flashlights that have worn down, to install in clocks.

A cheap battery tester will save you money on batteries in the long run.

I have one battery in use in an electrical meter that is about 45 years old.

Batteries are amazing sometimes!

The alarm clock probably only uses the battery as a backup when the power goes out. It's using electricity the rest of the time.

It does not run on electricity at all... just batteries... it has no cord

I don't know then because unless they were changed, I find it impossible that it would run on those batteries for 3 years.

I can't we have this one wall clock that only takes one double A battery and that battery is going on 4 years to.

Its not even a digital clock

I have a little electronic calendar that takes batteries, and they usually last about four years. Why wouldn't something like this be possible?

battery technology had improved over the last couple if decades. I have several low power devices that have not had their batteries changed in years.

Depending on the battery. Some can last a while. Look a batteries in a watch some can last for 2 years

Every battery runs out eventually. Even if they require the tiniest bit of power.
