Depends if you have patience and hands for it.
If you are going it alone as a "shop," then you need to have decent skills but better business acumen. But if you're going as an employee. Then you need to have quick wits to ensure you get more tickets done in as short a time as possible,
Yes, I have been in the field for 30 years. Computer repair is the entry level position. Learning computer security or network administration is what you want to aspire to.
Got to agree with this one. I have also been in the field for over 30 years and worked my way up from doing basic Helpdesk type stuff to configuring network equipment and departmental management. Security and network administration is what you should aim for but only if it is an area where you have a general interest.
When I was in my teens my peers were spending all their time buying clothes and practicing their make up, I was programming adventure games on my home computer. If you don’t have the same sort of interest in computers it might not be the career for you.

I wouldn't recommend it. The computer industry is stagnating, improvements are slowing down, sales slowing down. I also expect a trend toward non-repairable computers.
Computer administration, networking etc are probably a better bet.
If you have an interest in PC and hardware or electronic in general.
I have a friend who does this. Laptops are portable and people bring them to him. Desktops not so much. A lot of phones but they are difficult to work on and parts are ver y hard to get I am told.
It is Good, but the "competition" is too Big these days...🤷♂️
it is but no demand
