Go to the race! A fun experience will create great memories, a phone is just a phone. You can get it anytime, and it won’t provide you a happy time you can look back on fondly.

Considering the iPhone 15 will be out soon I would say that is a bad idea to get one right now. You can either get the 15 or a 14 at discount in probably less than a month. Doesn't seem like a good idea to get a 14 at full price right now. Just wait if you really want the phone. I don't know where you are from but in the US there are trade in deals and you can also pay over time on you plan.
