Did you know the US Emergency Alert Test located some contraband phones?

On 4 October 2023, there was an Emergency Alert Test in the US. This basically caused all cell phones in the US to sound a loud alarm and display a test message.

Interestingly, this test revealed some contraband cellphones that prisoners secretly had, and they were confiscated.

It also revealed that some Amish people had cellphones, which are frowned upon, as the Amish generally disregard modern technology.

I think all of the "Emergency Tests" are irritatingly stupid and useless. All they do is make you figure out a way to turn them off prior to them happening or to turn them off as quickly as you possibly can.

It is the same thing with the weekly "Emergency Tests" they do on the TV (which I swear are actually a daily test, not weekly, but I digress). All they have succeeded in doing by doing those tests so often is that they have annoyed people so that if it was really something we needed to pay attention to, no one is going to be paying any attention because we have all muted the tv so that we don't have to hear the freaking annoying alarm sound and a few minutes later we unmute it when it blinks back to our show.

In the uk you could simply turn your phones sound off in advance. I assume it's the same America. These prisoners must have been pretty dumb.

The prisoners don't get much news in prison so they probably wouldn't know. If they are dumb enough to wind up in prison then they are probably too dumb to turn off their phones or at least put it on vibrate only.

I'd expect that in a greed controlled country, these alarms are sold to members only.

Also: I'd imagine that a ''Premium Membership'' will transmit a real alarm slightly ahead of the otherwise disposable public?

As for 'contrabands' - the more, the better.

I suspect, no, know, for a fact, that our cell phones are monitoring us. where we go, what places we frequent, who we visit, what countries we go to, and so on. Our computers and laptops do this as well. So to have those phones ringing at that particular time, while it caught inmates' cell phones, are really an invasion of privacy. The only good I see in something like this is during an Amber Alert, where you can help someone who is being kidnapped.

The test wasn't just on cellphones, it was on all televisions too. That's what the said the day before the test. 🤷🏼‍♀️
