How do I repair my laptop's touchpad?

I have an hp laptop, it's relatively new, doesn't have any issues. I connected an external mouse and a wacom tablet, it worked just fine, but when I disconnected everything and tried to go back to normal the touchpad doesn't work, like the arrow just disappears if the tablet or external mouse aren't connected. I've searched on the internet but I don't know what to do

Here are a few things you can try to fix your laptop's touchpad:

- Check if the touchpad driver is up to date. Go to your laptop manufacturer's website and search for the latest touchpad driver for your model. Download and install it - this could fix a compatibility issue.

- Open Device Manager and check if there are any yellow exclamation marks next to the touchpad. If so, right click and select "Update Driver" to reinstall the driver.

- Try reseating the touchpad ribbon cable connection inside your laptop. There may be a loose connection stopping it from working. You'll need to open up the laptop casing which can be tricky. Make sure to watch a video guide for your specific model.

- Go to Settings > Devices > Touchpad and make sure the touchpad isn't disabled by accident. Toggle the On/Off switch if needed.

- Try resetting your laptop's BIOS/UEFI to factory defaults. This wipes any config changes that may have caused a conflict. Look up how for your laptop brand.

- As a last resort, HP support may have updated touchpad firmware you can flash to try and fix bugs. Give them a call if the above doesn't work.

have you tried updating the driver, you also could unistall and reinstall the driver for the touchpad.

With most laptops and computer there is troubleshooting section for all aspects of the computer, in your settings. If none of those options work, either get it to fixed under warranty, or just use a ordinary mouse.

First check if it still has warranty and then have the seller repair it.

If it were me, I would first want to know if this is a software (driver, some "smart" function...) or a hardware (board, touchpad itself) problem.

Doubletap the top right corner of the touch pad to reactivate it. You might notice a light in the corner of some models
