I just need to pop it back on, but that piece on the left won't budge. It chipped a little, I don't know if that's an issue.
I'd prefer a method that doesn't involve unscrewing anything

I partially popped it back on, but that pesky little piece on the left still won't budge. And I'm pretty sure that silver tape isn't supposed to be visible

I can barely see in a comfortable manner, and I don’t remember the lap top my brother had, which resembled this model.
I don’t think mine comes in too many added parts, like this version does.
I’m looking at all the little stubs. Wouldn’t it just simply ‘click’ into place?
If that’s the case, and it’s giving some trouble, would have to look at all the individual pieces, and sort of “roll” it in to place. One piece at a time, to ensure all of them lock in, and aren’t twisted/misaligned.
I would recommend looking at the name of this device, and possibly model number, and then search in Google or YouTube for an assembly/ disassemble video. When it comes to that part/piece, observe how they fix it/ attach it.
If you find no videos, I recommend taking it to a Best Buy, ‘Geek Squad’ team, and asking them how you can fix the minor issue, and if any minor purchases are necessary.
I’m honestly more curious in HOW this broke off 😏 like, what was even happening to strain it. Did it just fall out?
Best to you!
I did YouTube it and the guy wants me to unscrew it.
It SHOULD! I was able to pop the right side back in place, but I can't pop the left side because the hinge is stuck.
Yeah, I might just end up taking it to the computer repair shop. It's probably a simple fix that won't cost much. Something is just blocking the left hinge from moving
It was open and it slid and fell. Let's just leave it at that
Hope it all works out! I’ll forever be intrigued
Different laptops have different designs for the hinge. I put one together a long time ago, but had another open that was different and I was not going to fight it. Best bet is to get the exact name and model, then look for it on YouTube and google. Lots of videos on how to do it out there. You might have to check more than one to find the best fix for your model.

Pretty sure it will need to be unscrewed to get everything in the proper place so it will go back together.
..-_-..
It may not matter to you, but I typed my comment first. Was the very first comment on this post. That is all 😌
@Rosexøxø I know that you typed your comment (saying the YouTube guy wanted you to unscrew it) first. I was agreeing with that thought of unscrewing it so that everything will get in the proper place. Apparently you did not follow that and forced it together. That is why part of the screen cracked.
Sorry for the confusion of who was stating what. I wrote it when I saw your question and no other opinion was showing. Apparently Rosexøxø posted at the same time and her response to me confused me as to who I was responding to. But as I said, I was pretty sure you needed to unscrew it to get everything in the right place before trying to force the open part together. The hinge on a laptop is extremely fragile wince it must hold parts and wiring together while opening and closing. Not doing that is why your screen cracked. With the screen cracked it probably needs to be replaced and you will need a repair service to handle that.
I didn’t read fully through and through, otherwise it would’ve taken me some time to focus on it and understand what was said.
Thanks for the helpful addenda. I posted my comment first, even if some part is disagreed with, or yours seems better with additional use of proper techniques.
I appreciate the differences so ours are distinguished.
I just posted mine first 😌
Who knows maybe Somehow we were both typing it at the same time, and I just happened to send mine first but that would’ve been by minutes. Moving on. 😌
