There is just something very boring and depressing about everything being digital and consolidated in the cyberspace channel.

there's an essential part in my life... in the digital world, for me...

a few of the people I met and live with in my "real life" are currently living far away so, we still and often reach to each other in the "digital world" and it doesn't make me sad... because it's better than no contact at all, as it could be many years ago

so, it isn't always about the digital being too "cyberspace" it is also about what WE do and HOW we do it

now, if my digital world consisted of going to social networks and see all the crazy, sad, miserable, ridiculous and hatred going around then yes... I think I would end very sad and depressed myself... but I don't have any socials (other than G@G)

Yes and no. I was going to say no, it's fun and quite rich. But reading your detail below, I totally agree with that.

I think we are losing tactileness, And physical skilled labour. And true emotional connection. And smells, sights, and sounds that only come from the real, natural, and manmade world. Online images are flat. Anonymity brings out the cowardly monsters in people. Desensitization is rampant, as the ante gets upped. It's not good, any of it.

But I guess I'll give the flip side too. There's a lot of creativity happening. And information sharing, some of which is high-quality and free. We have dozens of ways to connect with one another. They're limited, but we used to be limited by geography and travel. At least we've solved one problem a bit.

It's exhilarating at times, and deeply depressing at others. I'm in the latter atm.

I think people do themselves a big disservice sitting in front of screens all day. I teach at a college and see groups of kids walking between classes. They all have their noses buried in their cellphones and nobody is talkijg.
