My phone surpassed my camera, so she's retired.

both.
A lot depends on where we are going and what we are seeing.
I have 2 digital cameras, one has the different lenses and filters and can take phenomenal pictures when set up right, the other one has surprised me on how nice the pictures turn out. It is smaller and doesn't need all of the extra stuff my good one requires, but I do not have the choices with that camera that my other one offers.
My phone is just fine for we are here isn't it cool pictures to text, yet it does take pretty good pictures.Both... depends on the shot/subject. If I'm going telephoto a camera is better. Thermal is going to be camera. Infrared is camera, though there are phones that do that, they do that poorly.
Phones are a good B-student. Sometimes that's all you need. And they are super portable and super subtle. Sometimes you need to get the valedictorian out though.

For personal use my phone. If I have to do something for work they have an expensive one I can borrow. But I rarely need it. Mainly when I need to jump in, and do someone elses part because lf illness or something else. Thats for a local newspaper.
I use my phone, My husband likes using a real camera.
Just my phone but i do have an old digital camera but my phone's camera is way better.
I still have a camera but use my phone almost exclusively. Unless I need to manually adjust settings it works fine. Not so good for taking pics of moon or things like that though.
