How much hard disk space do you reckon the whole G@G site takes up?

I checked one of my questions - 1.7 MB with all images and styles. Images and styles are shared between pages. The HTML itself is about 370KB. On LI they wrote 5 million questions, 10 million opinions. My question had more than 2 opinions, so let's cut the HTML to 340KB. Now multiply it by 5 millions

That's a good estimation.

Most websites take up around 700mg to up to a 1gb but websites like Youtube are much higher because of the amount of content that gets put on it regularly as well as all the activity on it so it probably gets routinely upgraded with more space.

Yeah, youtube is another level... Lets see if tech evolves https://www.cerabyte.com/ but as of now that definitely does not fit in a home server. Also mirroring sites such as G@G (unless you've got the code) would surely be problematic because the personalized feed keeps changing each time you enter a post.

Yeah youtube I would put on the same level as social media sites you'd need a dedicated server computer or several to handle all the date going in and out.

Yeah that's true it's not like a website that does just articles were the date isn't likely to change much aside from comments and new articles.
