How do I get a refund from Norton?

First I had cancelled my auto renewal. Then I canceled the service and uninstalled their crap. Now I found out they charged me over $450 for a renewal after my cancellation. 🤬Trying to find a phone number to chew them out has been elusive. Anyone ever had trouble with them and how did you get a refund?

I got burned once a long time ago. It was only for a small amount, I think 50 bucks but it was the principle. I called the credit card company and they would not take the charge off unless the company in question told them to. So I cancelled the credit card and did not pay the 50 bucks. After sending me statement s for about two years I think that they gave up.

Now if anybody wants to do business with me they have to send me a bill every month and I will send them a check. If they dont want to do that then they can KMA.

I assume you paid with a credit card. Contact your card company and challenge the charge. Tell them it was unauthorized.

I was preparing to do that Monday. The thing is, they charged me in Dec 2023 and I never noticed it until I was reviewing my account and found it.

Yes, I always pay off my bill at the end of the month so I don't have to pay interest. They snuck in the charge before Christmas when my attention was elsewhere. But since I had changed recurring charges and cancelled that there was not a problem to be aware of. 😣

Norton might have it's own phone number for customer support. You can check that same web site for it. They list thousands of numbers.

For 6 years at least. I checked because I was warned of a suspicious site by them. So I found out then that they didn't cancel my subscription and had charged me a new subscription through auto renewal, which I also had changed.

AVG pulled that same shit with me when I saw a bank alert that they took $80 out after I already canceled. I immediately called and they did fix it and return the money though. I used to think I needed these 'added protection' companies and even 'Ace Cleaner' on your phone, but most really are scams and you don't really need them. Windows Defender which is the default anti-virus and anti-malware on your computer really takes care of most issues.

Yes, they started charging for more and more that they said you needed. Finally I said enough! and cancelled.

I had Norton years ago. I wasn't satisfied every time I call the assistant center I was talking to somebody outside my own country that could not speak English properly. I canceled the service received my money back and I started looking for a new security system I found one that is produced here in the United States and if I have issues I'm speaking to somebody that understands my form of English. The company's name is called ESET best company I've had in 15 years. I've never had a problem with them it does all the security that I need is has a 360 it covers my phone systems and all the computers that I have in my house. Is fairly reasonable too.

For starters call your bank & tell them it’s a fraudulent charge & if you can prove that you terminated your services with Norton you have argument. On the flip side if you are able to go to Norton’s website where it says the following.

Talk to your credit card company and challenge the charge. Give them the date you canceled the subscription and point out the Norton charged you after that. If the credit card won't remove the charge, just cancel the credit card. Do not pay the charge, whatever you do.

I have been getting scam messages from most of the antivirus sites. Saying that my subscription has expired and is being automatically renewed. Nothing has been removed from any of my accounts. So I ignore them.
If your account has money removed. Call your bank or credit card and file a complaint against Norton. Good luck!

I got that too from McAfee. I was wondering how Norton can keep protecting me when I removed their software from my computer. But some say that it doesn't get completely removed.
