Do you clean the lint trap before you start a new load, or after the load has finished drying?

When do you clean the dryer lint trap? Before drying or after?

Before starting my next load

After the laundry is done drying

Actually I do both. Before starting a load, I check to make sure the lint trap is clean. After finishing a load, I clean the lint trap right after taking the clothes out or sometimes before to make sure I don't get lint onto the freshly dried clothes.

I don't think it's a compulsion, but at least it saves us from having to try to remember if I took the lint trap out the last time I used the dryer and cleaned it.

I clean it after drying... and check that it's clean before drying.

Same. It feels almost compulsive. I even do that when i live alone and nobody else does laundry in my machines. Ell oh ell!

Directly after the dryer has finished... It's then all ready for action the next time, especially if my husband uses it.
