I believe the next thing that would happen is that we would be able to be physically in media or pictures, like with VR or something, instead of it being the typical 2D watchable. Like if you watch something like a movie, you can physically be present in that just spectating.
Again, I'm not sure if it could count with capturing photos in the past since that can be the same thing as time travel; it would just be traveling in your head.
Also, I think the current Smartphone and Social Media era will look super antiquated and ancient in a decade. AR and AI will combine to blow to revolutionize how we interact with media over the next 15 years as smartphones get slowly phased out. I have a feeling to future generations the 2030s will be the first decade that they can truly revisit it digitally for how it was.

A person has to be really confident if they think the world will be as it is in 2030’s, we will be lucky to get out of 2020 without a full on global war.
as for an product, it must have a market that pays for its development costs and future sales growth.
Then there is the what do you get out of it other than the ‘oh yeah that’s nice’ and it’s gone as a fad.
The storage costs is where the money would be, as that type of storage would be huge.
Between now and 2030 it would be nice if every populated area had access to 1gig internet and 4g (never mind 5G), however there are loads of rural areas that don’t have that basic minimum.
I think people would be more wondering why we did stupid stuff like interacting with photos when we can’t get the basics sorted.
