I did before and would again.
I'd honestly prefer it over what we have now.

I used dial-up for a long time before I had broadband, maybe even longer than broadband. I think I first got DSL broadband in 2006.
The modern high speed internet is just a marketing ploy for the ISPs. Virtually nobody needs some of those speeds they are advertising. Even a family with multiple people streaming HD don't need it.
That kind of marketing is much like the number of pixels for a camera. Nobody needs that kind of resolution. You can't tell the difference.
Would I want to go back to dial-up? Not really, but I would if that's all I had. It wasn't just the speed. It was also the fact that it tied up the phone line. You couldn't call or receive calls while online.
By the way, it was almost entirely another guy, but I did a small amount of design work on staying connected with voice on dial-up, and send digital without disconnecting. That was a huge hurdle, and we might have been the first ones to do it. The modem companies at the time said it couldn't be done, but we did it anyway. This is part of the tech that led to smart phones.
Thats pretty much when I got broadband as well.
I do need high download speeds, but its because because digital distribution for games is forced on me. Had that never occured I'd be fine with slower speeds, ping however is still as shitty as it always was.
As for digital cameras, I can see the difference pretty clearly, but even the bedt digital cameras are way worse than old analog ones in image quality.
I forgot about it tieing up phone lines, I never had that issue because we had a seperare line for the internet.
Thats actually really cool, and everyone says "it can't be done" or "we won't ever need more than ____ of ____" and most of the time they're wrong lol.
