My computers keep telling me a few external drives have problems & need scanned & repaired but, when they get scanned the report says they're fine?

If the scans say there's no problems and nothing to repair, why do I keep getting these messages on the same drives?

I guess. As for the jump drive, I just plug it in and it tells me there's a problem and it needs scanned and repaired so, I let it do that and, seconds later, it's done and says there's nothing wrong with it! If there's nothing wrong with it, why does it keep telling me there is?
Yesterday, I wasn't even using the K: drive and I was told IT had a problem and needed scanned and repaired! So, again, I let it and, seconds later, it says there's nothing wrong with it!

I don't know. I just know that it's always on the same drive on both computers.

I have it too but from windows. I figure its the operating system being weird.

I wonder if Linux will not do that.

If I'm lucky and I'll get a new SSD, I'll get on Arch Linux before this summer is over.

I was thinking of getting a couple SSD's but, they're pretty expensive, for having no moving parts and I've heard a few things about them that make me a tad skiddish about them.

I do but, the thing is, why does it keep telling me this? One of the drives isn't even a year old, yet and I hardly ever do anything with it but, I'll plug it into this computer and I get that message so, I let it repair what it thinks needs repaired and then, I'll take the drive downstairs to the laptop and get the same message! It was just scanned and repaired by THIS computer so, why is it still in need of a scan and repair downstairs? And then, the next time I plug it back in up here, I get the same message!
I think I'm gonna try this: next time I take it downstairs, copy everything over to the 2TB drive and then format the 32GB drive and then put everything back onto the 32. I bought it last Sept.!

No, it's just a jump drive that I have a bunch of music saved on. The Woodstock concert, if I recall; correctly.

The other one is a fairly large WD external drive.

Back up your files and delete the partitions and reformat the drive, The WD use NTFS check it in Administrative tools.

There are no partitions except on the C: drive. It comes with one as the D: drive. Usually, it's nearly empty but, the past few months, it's been filling up nearly half way, for some reason but, I'm not putting anything onto the D:.

I honestly wouldn’t trust that computer. Get a Mac
