Trending & News It shouldn't but it does. It hegins by robbing me of my identity and image I had of myself. With so much videos and images, that content grabs my attention and slowly numbs me to regurgitate the noise.
Through some great direction and discernment practicing how to have a purpose before jumping on youtube or social media and for how much time which has boosted my confidence. No longer am I caught up in some of the most intriguing rabbit holes or just extra unneeded comparison garbage to confuse me- which a lot of relationships struggle with because both partners are getting information from unkown truth versus eternal truth.. no kidding we take a hit on our esteem, ego, love life, confidence, etc
Lol, nope
U sure?
100 percent positive. No one’s life is as good as it seems on social media
Why do you have so many tattoos then?
Because I like tattoos
My momma told me only insecure people with constant need for validation had many tattoos.👼👼👼
Well your momma told you wrong
Poor guy. 😭😭😭I'll give you a like to make you feel better.
Projecting your insecurities onto others? You poor kid 😔
@Juxtapose it is one of fav free time activities.
@Juxtapose nah. We’re just playing. @BlissfullyCurSed knows not to really fuck with me or he’ll end up in a body bag
@Kingofkings1992 it is only because I pitied you. Lolol... what is going on with your MHO rate? is it 2% or smth?😂😂😂
Oh? They told you I cared about that? They must’ve misinformed you
Since I have no social media, I am not insecure at all. GaG not being a social media, I have no issues whatsoever since I am not running after followers and/or being an influencer.
I could imagine that there are a number of simple minded people that place a high importance on the number of people that they have to follow or on a large crowd of followers. Losing the one or the other follower or the status of influencer could lead to a certain level of insecurity.
But those are simply the people that place such a high importance on validation that it rules their entire lives.
You should have picked Mary Sue as your nickname instead of Sueshe.
"Mary Sue is a derogatory term used to criticize a character that fits into either or both of these two character archetypes: An author-insert character used for wish-fulfillment. An idealized character who is talented at everything and has no meaningful flaws, but may have a tragic backstory."
It is something that is not desired. Therefore, it is considered a derogatory term.

I have a different definition from a different site and I cannot find anywhere a mention that it is not desired.

@sueshe Little Suzy... you heard him right?
@Juxtapose she actually is a saint. I believe her.
@Juxtapose as a devoted missionary, she spends her valuable time on reading liturgical books only.
It is the AI
It does, which is why I normally try to avoid it. Places like this usually just tick me off if I’m online too long.

I do not take it seriously. My issue has always been the angry, toxic people who port endless streams of nonse. I quit FB because of that and the ads. I tried Twitter and quit within two days because my feed was filled with that toxic nonsense posted by angry people whom I did not even follow. I like this site because it is so easy to block topics I dislike, the toxic posts are easy to skip, and there are a lot of decent people.
Yeah like @Billlewis
Not really, I don't follow the kinds of accounts that would.
Actually a lot of those I follow have helped me feel better about myself and reflect and grow as a person.
I follow a lot of artists as well, since I draw myself, and sure, sometimes it can make me feel like my own art would never be up to par, but at the same time it's also encouraging.
Social media kinda makes me sad. I have to get off it sometimes because as nice as it is to keep up with things and feel like you’re looped in on pop culture, there’s a lot of garbage out there and mental disease.
Just unhappy people trying to make other people feel like shit, so much propaganda and tribalism.
All for what? How many people do you personally reach out to and have a connection with on social media?
It does, but not because some random girls photoshop themselves to look like Kim Kardashian, because I see people I haven't talked to in years do cool things without me and I'm not there 😭
You're just a POTATO. Get a grip of yourself!
But I... don't yell at me I'm sorry 😭😭😭
@just_a_potato okay- nobody ever goes on Facebook to show what a boring life that they have and what a loser they are. You have a good plan for your life and you are working towards it. You have lots of talents and you have people that like you/ .
Don;'t worry about this stuff.
@exitseven okay thank you 😔
Social media can actually foster insecurity, as it often highlights curated, idealized versions of people’s lives. Constant exposure to carefully crafted posts and images can lead to comparison and self-doubt, causing a person to question their own worth and accomplishments. The pressure to meet these filtered standards can lead to feelings of inadequacy. However, it’s important to remember that social media doesn’t always reflect reality. Being mindful of the content you see and focusing on your own strengths and accomplishments can help to minimize these negative effects and promote a healthy self-image. I mean I'm still confident but in general I'd be lying if sometimes it doesn't distort my reality and make me ungrateful for what I have/push me towards a consumerist or greedy mindset.
Always remembering and factoring in perspective and mindfulness is more important than ever nowadays.
I don't have social media, but I doubt it would
You naturally have glowing skin and healthy hair accompanied with so many striking features. You're already an "IT GIRL", so I don't it would do any harm to your self-esteem either.
*I don't think
the one thing that makes me feel like I am missing out though... is all the those memes
When I see girls my age or younger having kids it makes me feel jealous. So I try to stay off social media as much as possible because it does make me feel insecure in that regard. I want a baby so bad. 😢 😭 😢 😭
It doesn't because I don't compare myself, the whole concept is illogical to me.
Nope, still confident and just myself. People can look at it in different angles, but I just see it as for fun and inspiration. I tend to not be a negative Nancy about social media & in general.
I used to be very insecure because of social media. I'm talking about the nonstop comparisons and wanting what other people had. But one day I decided to delete my instagram, snapchat etc. and stopped caring about other people's lives and focused on mine (:
Sadly yes.. too much pretty girl out there to the point that i feel my face is even lower than what can be considered “average”
Most of them don't even look like they do on camera. They're not influencers, but I know hundreds of instagram users with 1-2k followers. Most of them don't look like what they present on social media. It is needless to say that extent of this made-up fantasy can surpass the imagination of a normal person like us if we're talking about those 500k plus influencers.
No I wouldn't say so. But it is frustrating when I see people portraying an ideal of life or a certain image of themselves that influences negatively other people.
It doesn't particularly affect me, but it can be time-consuming if you don't ration your time on it properly.
This is the only form of social media I engage in, but It's never left me feeling insecure yet!
Tbh yes it does even though it's not real Life.
If you say yes, I’d say most things make you insecure.
Maybee...
It used to.. but I just learn't to accept my fate.
It does but then again you don't know whats going behind the screen
yeah but then i cannot copy paste other people's appearance so iam all good /j
Nope. Social media is all smoke and mirrors. Therefore, why would I be insecure about someone’s social media’s persona?
Nope, it's just the random opinions of nobodies on the internet who cares what they think.
No, do not base my self esteem on what a bunch of strangers think.
Insecure? No. Reminders of what i DON'T have and/or jealousy yes.
No, they completely fabricate their lives and are just as flawed as the rest of us.
I've never felt compelled to use it. Talked into it, but didn't stick.
No just frustrates me because my timeline is all political stuff.
no. it makes me amazed of what levels of idiocy humanity has devolved into.
no it just makes me annoyed lol
It doesn't affect my confidence at all
It is all posing, not reality.
Not really
Why would it?
No...
No lol
Not one bit.
No..
