In my opinion yes since you can use filters lots of make up perfect lighting angles to make yourself look better. Especially the makeup part it can make some look like a completely different person.

Less attractive people have always been more insecure on average than more attractive people, It's why makeup and cosmetic surgeries were invented long before things like social media, computers, tv, or internet ever existed.

People want someone or something to blame, but a person's sexual preferences/desires are genetic. You cannot program a person to like or dislike any particular look, and there are women who natirally look just as good or better than models, without any makeup on.

It's one of those topics where the truth isn't going to comfort anyone. Its just a part of life that is unfair to some, and it always will be. Growing up most people didn't have internet, and social media wasn't a thing, and the prettiest women who didn't wear any makeup, still made other women feel insecure by just existing.

I feel like a lot of the women who blame social media or tv or movies or games etc. They must live in areas with not many people in them, or at least not many very attractive people. If you grew up in a big city, you saw them frequently in person.

No insecurity have been there since the dawn of time. Otherwise a story like snowwhite would never have been written hundreds of years ago. An old hah wanting to kill a young more beautiful woman just out of jealousy. Some people want to blame there own insecurity on anything. Our society should be seeking the best. not medicore pov. We all want ourselves to Look good so why we hate others when they do it. There r people who r truly good looking and hot naturally. What we lock them up?

I believe a lot of it does. I think most people are wise enough to know that a lot of it isn’t real but when a woman sees another picture of a beautiful woman and the way men complement her and go on about how stunning she is, it’s hard to not feel insecure about your own flaws. The amount of makeup some wear is heavy and I do believe there are more men out there that are attracted to real women but that’s not what we see when we are on social media.

Absolutely it does. Especially when new mums see a celebrity who appears to have lost all of their baby weight immediately. You see the insecurity come out severely than with so many.

I honestly believe social media need to have some kind of rule that you can't upload any photos that contain filters or any type of editing that allows your natural features to be altered.
