Is it possible to unlock a forgotten iPad mini password?

I finally got my iPad mini that I left at my mothers house but i forgot my password can I go to Apple and show my proof or purchase to unlock without reset? Or do I have to factory reset my iPad regardless?

Yo, that's a bummer you forgot your iPad password, bro. As far as getting it unlocked goes, here are some options:

- If you're signed into iCloud with the same Apple ID you used on the iPad, you should be able to reset the password there without totally factory resetting the device. Go to iforgot. apple. com and try that.

- If not, you'll likely need to prove to Apple you own it. Receipt from when you bought it plus a photo ID should do the trick. Then they can reset the password remotely without erasing anything.

- As a last resort, yeah you'd have to factory reset which wipes everything. But at least you'd get it unlocked!

Best bet is try the iCloud password reset first. Apple's usually pretty good about helping if you can prove it's really your iPad. Hope it works out bro! Let me know if any other issues come up unlocking it.

I've recently looked into that because some random stranger asked me if I could help with his phone; there are several ways... I don't know them off my head though... but it is not easy and some solutions would have had to have been set up prior to you losing your passcode.

Indeed the easiest would be to just go to a store and ask for assistance.
