How would you react if your SO paired an AMD processor with an Intel graphics card when building a new gaming PC?

I don't care.

The era of good video games has ended when skins, pay2win content (guns, equipment etc), DLCs, micro transactions and Deluxe Edition garbage have started to sell, which was over 10 years ago. Therefore 10 year old gaming rigs still do the job to enjoy the good video games.

I'd give her credit for doing that. Not sure what the performance would be, but sometimes you just have to try things.

Intel Arc a770 delivers roughly the same as a RX 6600xt.

Understandable. I'm not too fussy, just go with what ever delivers the best performance for the price, luckily when I bought my gaming PC, it was AMD that offered the best performance for my budget, now I have the option to upgrade to an x3D chip which are the fastest gaming processors.

Indeed interesting, just a few months after purchasing my gaming PC, AMD unveiled 5800x3D, then this year unveiled the 5700x3D, giving me a solid upgrade path. Things are about to get even more interesting , Ryzen 9000 will be released soon then at the end of the year 15th gen will be released, which will be extra interesting, as Intel is doing away with hyperthreading, so it will be interesting to see if the IPC increase makes up for the reduction in threads.
