Should I purchase an iPad for college?

I have a gaming laptop which is relatively heavy and on the bigger side I can manage to bring it with me to class but the size of it gets annoying, takes up space on desks and just in way of everything. I was thinking of just getting an iPad with a pen and keyboard for notes and such to classes and use my laptop at home for more complex tasks or even the schools computers. Would you guys say this is a good approach? Because I really don’t want to have to buy another laptop even if it’s cheap and have 2 laying around. Plus I slack on writing notes so I feel as though maybe an iPad would help me in a way?

Do it. Although I wouldn't recommend an iPad.

If you want to go the tablet route, I would recommend that you get a Samsung tablet instead. I like the Samsung writing experience way more, and the tablets themselves are a bit more versatile. Plus, the pen is free and your notes will be synched with your google account, which is a nice little convenience thing.

I love love love being able to write notes on my Samsung. It was a nice addition to my business.

iPads/tablets are great for portability and typing out quick notes. Tablets also make it easier to add a quick picture or drawing to your notes if necessary. My recommendation would be to get an iPad or Samsung tablet but also bring your computer just in case.

Is it a big or small school?
Do they suggest apple or PC?

My major is in info tech specifically cybersecurity, I know I’ll need programs that are better made for windows (I already have a windows laptop) Also the school is big. Not sure what they do suggest but I know when it comes to a laptop I would def need windows.

You will need a laptop computer for college. If you also want a tablet, a better choice than an iPad would be an Android tablet, which allows greater flexibility with respect to available apps and configuration.

Don't get an ipad unless you are drawing on it.
Its far superior to other tech for that purpose, and awful for everything else.

Nope, a notebook and pen is better for taking notes for tech classes. Lots of (/=]^{%" in tech classes; and computers see that and want to do something with it.

You really need a real computer. The gaming laptop will be better that an iPad. I do not think many students actually bring their laptops to class.
