Can internet be affected by construction?

A few weeks ago, there was major construction on a road in my area, and ever since, my internet has been cutting out A LOT, and alexa has been telling me to reboot my router many times a day. Just wondering if this is a coincidence or a possible cause. My internet company said they think it's something within my building.

It may have affected the communication lines. It also may have caused a spike in the electricity that zapped your gear. I think the second one is more likely.

If you have more than one device connected to the Internet, do you have the problem with all of them? Also, if you are using a notebook, try taking it somewhere else to connect - any place with WiFi.

If you have another router, try using it.
