I do that a lot. My smart phone often just sits on my desk. Sometimes, I forget to take it with me.

You see, the phone is a tool, not a ball and chain.

I don't always carry a hammer, screwdriver and wrench (spanner) with me, why should I always carry my phone?

If it wasn't a work day, sure. Non-work days are pretty rare though. If it wasn't needed for work, a day without it wouldn't be a big deal.
