Well I may be kicked off all mobile networks in 9 days due to an issue that my phone has with calling emergency number and I am very unhappy with this.

I want the female minister responsible to be sacked and replaced with a man. She has completely ballsed up the communications around this.

So I will be very angry if my gov't bricks my phone as I can't do without it.

Easily. I rarely get a phone call or text. Nor do I have a reason to make one. Except in a rare occurrence.

Not if I was working. I drive for a living and my phone is my GPS for all unknown addresses, plus my work uses it to track my location so the customer can know exactly where I am.

I can communicate without messengers. I dont need an app to see friends or talk to them.

Called real life. So earlier I called before we met or when I had a drivers license I drove and we met without phone before.

Work and then home - so if you want to spend time after work you plan together if or if to stay home lazy together. Simply by talking.

I miss those good old times.

Yup, I do it whenever I’m backpacking in a wilderness area. I have my phone in my backpack but it’s shut off. No signal. No point in discharging the battery. I may pull it out when I cross back into civilization.

Depends on the circumstances. If I'm off grid and in the mountains and have all my needs of food, shelter, and transportation met, then he's absolutely. It's amazing to disconnect.

But other than that and camping scenarios, I need it to connect with others. And I am probably a little addicted to the news I see on social media these days.

So far, I've got at least 4 months! Before I started using it to call my girlfriend every day, it'd sit here for a few weeks before I used it. Other than making or getting phone calls, I have no use for it. Well, besides taking pics/videos/recordings and sending them to my computer. I only ever turn it on when I absolutely need to.

Yes, I could rather easily, as I was an adult before they were developed. I have little sympathy for people complaining that the person they are seeing doesn´t promptly respond to their texts..

Yes, easily. I only use my smartphone when I'm out and bored, and even then it usually doesn't do much to assuage the boredom because I only use it for IRC and usually nobody's talking in my IRC channels. And even if it did, most of the time I'm out I'm busy walking or engaged in something else.

I was never a big cell phone user. I had a flip phone up until 3 years a go when I needed it for my job. I am mostly retired now but still need it for multi factor authentication but I could easily go a week without it.

Sadly a lot of essential services require cellphone number and/or 2FA codes via mobile apps. And also I can't and won't take my laptop everywhere with me for internet access.

Yes, when my wife and I go on a cruise, typically 14-21 days, our cellphones are basically worthless. It's no problem living without them.

Impossible.. I have to check my bank account to see if there is no theft going on. And I use to locate shops. And some information about time and location. But I agree I should cut down useless web browsing and pictures watching.
