If you think of the amount of people that pull out their phones to record or take pictures instead of helping others really shows high levels of narcissism and shows that to many people... their publicity and online reputation is much more important to them than helping another individual and of course with the internet, it's also much easier to influence others to follow in the same footsteps, I'm sure there's other things that play a part such as childhood, but I know the internet doesn't help

Oh, the answer you didn't ask for: Internet does not exist, for us. There is just what we perceive of internet, where we land on internet and what we do on internet. Internet is a place far too vast to be defined. Defining Internet by focusing on its more blatant and unappealing web 2.0 traits is unfair and unrealistic. This is just one tip of one iceberg. You're naming that tip "Internet" but it's definitely not internet.

lmao... that made me remember of a clip I watched just last night

this guy rushing and running to his place because it's storming like crazy outside, and as he gets to the porch, he just falls and smashes against the house... the dude could have shattered his ankle, busted a knee, broken a hip or two, or at the very least got a concussion... but his first, instant and automatic reaction seemed to be for his hand and fingers to go to his phone screen and check it, lmfao...

not to complain about the pain, not to check if he was alright physically... but he went to look at his phone and his fingers looked like he was about to type, or to stream, or post... "hey guys... I just got to destination fucked!! #PrayForMySpine"

definitely got me overthinking about that funny reaction and how sometimes we cannot just let go off our mini-screens... lol

I think the internet and social media has taught as more is better. Over consumption. I don’t know about creating a narcissist as there isn’t much data to record that BUT I can only imagine it playing some sort of a role in how people perceive things.
