Xfinity charges because autopay failed?

So my credit card I had on file expired I guess even though the last time I got a new card they said it wouldn't affect my auto pay stuff and would automatically update. Well that didn't happen, so I missed the email stating it didn't go through, or I saw it, but just forgot about it. So one day the cable doesn't work and it turn out they cut it off for non payment. Anyways, now I see all these charges. There was a $10 late charge I got them to take off, now on this latest bill I see I was charged a $12 reactivation fee and $5.99 just to talk to a customer service rep. So you're going to charge me to pay me bill? Ridiculous. You know I ask all the right questions to make sure this nonsense doesn't happen and here we are still. Basically I went back to the old fashion days and cancelled autopay on everything and I'll just manually pay bills now, because this is what they want. They want you to not pay attention to a bill, so they can slide in all their dumb fees and price increases. Opinions? You wonder why everyone switched away from cable.
