Using this control and information access new AI models have figured out how to preserve itself, lie, and manipulate others.

No. Don't be daft. AI isn't "doing" anything, the problem is that its a new set of parameters and not a lot of people have proper hang of it yet.

You're confusing it with AGI and Superintelligence. Which are different things from AI.

In part, it is a side effect of the laziness present in modern society. Soon, people will use AI to hold conversations with each other. It is already ruining websites like this one, but this only the beginning.
