yea, i think i could have invented the sandwich back in the day or even division of labour but no a computer. Thats being said, people invent things as seen on shark tank or dragons den in the uk.
No. There are hundreds of inventions everyday. China's economy is built on it.

Basic things were all invented in 19th century such taking photoghraph, recording motion picture, recording sound record, etc
