I only have Twitter to check in on a couple of old friends occasionally that have kind of gone a bit off the rails. I want to make sure they're alive and okay, but don't want contact. They are very active on there and no other platforms.
A profile of someone who... uh... really loves wearing diapers... keeps popping up under "Who to Follow."
Would this be someone that is somehow affiliated with profiles I look at? Is this a profile those people are looking at? Or is this somehow really just random? Yikes.

Statistics that represent incontinence are only representative of those in countries with health care systems, access to health care, and those who have actually come forward to speak about it with their gp. They are not based on sales of incontinence products.
Sales of incontinence products and adult diapers each year out sell baby diapers in multiple countries around the world including, the US, china, Japan, the UK, and many countries in main land Europe.
Predictively speaking 97% of females, around the world, experience some form of incontinence at some point in their life time after age five,
I have not done the research on men to make a accurate prediction on male's, around the world, who experience incontinence, but I am estimating something like 77% .
So from an incontinence perspective less then 50% of the human species have never experienced and never will experience incontinence after potty training.
From another perspective, the ABDL community contains enough people world wide to fill china ,
China's current population is 1.45 billion.
Keep in mind not every person in the ABDL community is a diaper wearer, infact most of the ABDL community is made up by those who work to support those that feel the need to regress back to infancy (Adult Babies) or wear diapers for comfort (diaper lovers), by manufacturing products, and providing therapeutic services.
Those in the ABDL community that do wear diapers could fill the UK that is about 69.3 million.
When you consider these two perspectives, it is easy to see both why almost every social media platform, will have people on it that wear diapers.
Finding one under who to follow, should not be seen as odd.
If you don't look at incontinence related stuff or abdl related stuff, then the person proberbly has other things in common, I would not dismiss someone simply because society can't handle their choice or their medical issue.
The algorithm has given you a glimpse into the future. You will only drive yourself mad by trying to resist. Give in to the diapers.
But seriously, there's a myriad of reasons why it could've happened. A video that you left playing while scrolling is enough to trigger it. It could be a new person not even in any of your circles that the algorithm is trying to give exposure to. Could be whoever it is stumbled onto your profile, making the algorithm wonder if you know each other.
Think of it like the follow recommendations on this site. I keep getting suggested people I would never bother interacting with, regardless of the title the site gives them or how long they've been here.
Somewhere there is a connection to that particular context.
You may have searched for diapers (for your baby, for a colleague or acquaintance) in your favorite search engine, probably the one most people use and then you use the browser of that same company to check the internet.
You may have friends that have been buying diapers online, you may have passed in front of a store selling diapers which your GPS on your smartphone on and the marketing strategy of this company has registered it. AI has done the rest and you are the target of clever manipulation because AI and the internet thinks that you may have a deeper interest for that topic.
Everything is interconnected and one of those giant service companies (GAFAM) share the information among each other.
