Is it good or bad?

Question

So here’s a question whether you were born before or after the discovery of the Internet and technology as we know it today. Do you think it has done more good or more bad since the day you actually had that technology in your hand? I’m Lorenzo and I want to know your take.

The internet has fundamentally changed the world in the same way electric power through fossil fuels and coal has. Now, to continue using this metaphor, yes we know that coal and fossil fuels are not only limited resources but harmful to the environment. However, using the power they provide absolutely jettisoned humanity as we know it to make the fastest technological progress and growth we had ever seen in the world at the time. We instantly found better means of providing healthcare, entertainment, opportunities for new jobs and industries as we began to grow into new inventions ranging from the lightbulb to the television to what would eventually become the first home computers. Simultaneously, we also discovered the horrors it was capable of if left unchecked, things not just like oil spills but also acid rains that cause massive amounts of damage. And much like how the threat of acid rain was significantly reduced thanks to the efforts of well-trained environmental scientists who worked to actively reverse some of the damage wrought to environments that experienced this awful phenomena, so too do we need the advice of experts to navigate our online experiences in order to make sure we have the best possible outcomes.

Side note, I want to make it abundantly clear that the experts of the internet and its experiences are 100% NOT the politicians trying to regulate its use.

Discovery? I'm going to guess after.😆 I think it has been a tool for more good. I just think there are a lot of f***ed up people in this world today. And that they probably should just stay off the internet. Because if you're already a miserable person, the internet is not going to fix you. Only you can do that.

A bit good by a few people but way way way more bad.  And emotionally disturbing by reading trigger stuff on facebook etc. Geting nitpicked by hypocrit admins on social media etc.

I think we... have done both, better and worse personally, I am just glad that a lot of things we did back then, did not end up in socials as they are today... lmfao
