How do I access an SD card inserted in my Android tablet?

I put the card in, it shows the card is there but I have no access to it other than to find out how much space is left on it.

An SD card made years ago wasn't made to last 15 years. Depending on storage and stype of card in 5-15 years it can be bad. Electronics don't just stay good forever because they are in storage.

I've got a dozen or soi and, except for one, they still work great. same goes for a several dozen floppy disks that I have.

The tablet's at least 10 years old, the SD's I bought back in the early to mid `00's.

It needs to be formatted and then mounted.

After that, use the File Manager
