So again at some point we become vastly different even if we somehow don't have a decaying brain.

Digital “immortality” isn’t a thing, not unless you intend to disassemble the brain to make a computer system that can mimic consciousness. It’s not how you actually move conscious thought from organic to inorganic, it’s not possible without some form of death. Honestly, just look up Netflix’s Pantheon and find the scene where they “upload” someone’s brain. It would be more or less like that.
