If some AI got ahold of audio recordings (phone calls/etc) of a deceased relative, pulled your messages and emails and was trained... to have a conversation with you.

And then your deceased relative calls you up and starts having a conversation?

Freaked?

It could even be a scammer that tries to "play you" in some way... like if the person is still alive in hospital, etc..

That isn't very far from fiction at this point..

That would be weird. I wouldn't appreciate AI impersonating my deceased relatives.

When I think about it, though. I would like to hear one girlfriend's voice again and to be able to engage in small talk.
She's the one I met when I was 36, fell totally in love with, and lived with for two years. We separated even though we loved each other. We just couldn't have made it through life's ups and downs as a couple for the rest of our lives.
She found me on Facebook about 18 years after we had separated. We even spoke on the phone a couple of times and her voice made my heart melt. It was distinctive and was still the same.
Five years later, I read that she had died from a sudden medical problem at the age of 55. I was shattered. I still miss her deeply and even visit her Facebook page from time to time to talk to her silently.
So yeah, I would love to hear her voice. I wish I had more photos of her, too. There were no digital cameras back then.

Petra got you with a golden arrow. Maybe she tapped into some emotional circuits you didn't know you had, empathy for her and all the other concoction of hormones and chemicals. When you talked what was the tone... saying goodbye, reminiscing, checking in? gotta wonder what that was about. People come into our lives for a reason, and it's a stimulate to learn and grow. not all of them are meant to stay because the formula is not right at the time. It is challenging being a developing human and there are some people beyond the skills of even the most skilled to handle. Some, cannot be 'fixed', just loved and accepted. I knew a woman that was abused by her father. she was a lot of fun to hang out with, but man... she could blow up like a bomb, the wounds terrible. She fried her introverted husband.

So you remember me talking about Petra.
We didn't talk about much except what we had been up to. There was no weirdness or tension at all. She was living in Colorado near her mom and son. She told me how she and her son were doing. She told me about some on-line business stuff she was working on and said her dream was to retire to Belize. Visiting the Great Blue Hole was her dream.

On-line, she had become one of the brightest and best informed people I knew. She was ahead of me when it came to politics and world events.

Sounds like a really interesting person, she must have been very bright, reader, a real fighter of a personality to get through life after starting out with abuses. I guess she can count good fortune she had a son and all those experiences. I assume you don't know her son.

Her son came and visited a couple times and stayed for a while when he was a young teen. He was a great kid. They loved each other.
Sadly, I read on her Facebook page that he passed away sometime after she did. I don't know the cause.

Glad could provide you an outlet. It helps to write and explore, it's life. Every day is a gift, none of us know how long we will be here, that's a reason I try to make the most of life in the moment, regardless of the human/animal/life. It's all unique.
