Youtube is getting BS. I mean they always been showing signs of it but this is getting out of hand. Now you need to post pictures of your ID, a selfie and even your Credit Card and AI will verify it to prove you're not a kid because Youtube has an AI that can track what you watch. If it detects you watching kid's content, you'll be assumed to be a kid and freeze your account and the only way to prove it is to present them to youtube. And any videos talking about it will always get shutdown. I'm sure it won't be long till this video gets deleted and they show authority to disable your account anytime.

Like what is this? Youtube is a porn site now? Porn sites don't even need you registers to watch porn vids. They might as well just make youtube a porn site if they're that strict. I'm sure they didn't forgot youtube kids exist but they're just doing it for money. That's not for the kids. I watch a lot of old cartoon scenes some old video games and I make and arrange music on youtube. I might start packing them all and download all my vids.

It's not possible because no one will see or share what you post. People will have to make new accounts and they won't. Some people will use one and not another, so no one has any platform in common.

If another one emerges as predominant, then people will move to it and it will be useful. This happened when MySpace users moved to Facebook, and everyone stopped using MySpace as if it had never existed. The same thing when AOL users moved to Google, though old people stuck with AOL, and it died a slow death. There are probably still people who use it now. Where is Netscape?

At first streaming was just like an add-on, like HBO or Starz on cable. It took 10 years for people to leave cable TV for streaming as their primary source of programming.

When users moved from Facebook to Instagram, and then to TikTok, many users stayed behind or used some or all of them, because each platform has its own identity.

It's a massive undertaking to draw everyone's attention from one major cultural presence to another. There's nothing at all to indicate users will leave YouTube anytime soon, or any clear alternative for them to go to. I know about Vimeo, but I've probably only looked at it twice in my whole life. I look at YouTube many times a day, sometimes for 5 minutes, sometimes for half and hour.

When the world makes a move, you will know. It's a rare thing.

The future can be unpredictable sometimes. The main problem is not that YouTube spying on what you're watching, but it's the fact that you can easily be mistaken as a kid just because you watch "kids stuff" and sharing your ID, Selfie and even credit card is a serious threat.

Just don't have accounts with Google. If the content is available without sign in, then watch it if you want... Otherwise ignore it. I don't know why anyone uses their products anyway. They have been recording your emails on gmail, recording your searches on Google, and recording your GPS locations everywhere you go with your phone. They started making you confirm your accounts with your phone number a long time ago as well, so that you will always carry around your tracking device to be actively monitored. They actively route your car through neighborhoods they want to drive physical traffic to even if it's inconvenient for you and wastes your time and gas. It's a monitoring and control system. Now with AI they are trying to control your thinking. It's weird to see how much many people will let them get away with that crap.

Because having an account can allow you to save a video for later to watch or to make playlists about your favorite videos. You can't do that without signing in nor comment about something. Ironically you're telling me to ignore it and also calling people weird for letting them get away with that crap.

You can scrape videos right off their site with apps like jdownloader and save them to your hard drive if you think they are that important to you and then make playlists in whatever media software you want. You don't know what the word ironic means. You shouldn't use it, just like you shouldn't use Google.

Technically yes we can do you compare that process to just simply saving it to a playlist, you can't pretend that it's not faster that and it doesn't take memory space. Even if it's not a big deal for you, you're just downplaying it just because you have that convenience. If your power is out, don't complain. Just use generator and complain about people letting the electric company get away with it. You don't know what ironic means either because you don't know you're being one.

Alternatives, sure. But Youtube is well aware that it's capital is in the form of a legacy of 20 years worth of video uploads that you presumably largely can't find elsewhere.

The internet is becoming in general more and more unusable, monitored and dangerous. I think the best thing you can do is taper off your usage in general. Nothing wrong with a good book!

I also watch a lot of world history in youtube so no. "Nothing wrong with a good book" by the way, the internet is becoming a part of life. That's like saying "There's nothing wrong with using candles instead of lights" Most successful businesses today involves the internet because it's not luxury anymore. It's revolution.
