I was recently in Iceland for a week with my wife, where my phone doesn't have coverage (at least not without expensive roaming), so I didn't use it for a week. We used her phone instead, having bought extra coverage for her in Iceland.

I leave it at home on the charger for days at a time. I have used a flip phone for the last 20 years. I got a smartphone 3 years ago because of a new job. I need it for multi factor authorization. If I still did not need it for that I would go back to a flip phone.

I was on vacation in China for 3 months without using my cell phone at age 21. Last year, I did not have internet access during my 16 day cruise.
