Shoud the US allow Tik Tok?

President Trump is negotiating a deal to allow Tik Tok to continue in the US. A year ago he wanted to ban it.

I think it should be banned and soon an American company will take it's place just like Rumble did when You Tube banned conservatives

I do not trust China and doubt that they will give up all control over the algorithms.

I never used TikToc, but I have no problem with a Chinese owned site. I like having sites available that aren't controlled by our government. For instance, RT was much more unbiased and uncensored than U. S. sites.

Our government isn't worried about foreign countries collecting data. Data is readily available. Corporations are in the business of collecting it. What our government wants is control of the narrative.

As far as collecting data, Israel collects every single bit of data from every single site and it controls narratives and what gets censored. With our government's blessing and collaboration, it has more information on U. S. citizens than the NSA. It even has access to government secrets.

I will not install Tik Tok on my phone. When I first bought this phone, advertisements from that site kept appearing on my phone and this just click here to install it. And it would have a box with the word "Install". Ha! I don't need anyone from that country spying on my phon. But I have a bad feeling in my gut that they already are doing it. 😕

Certainly ban all Chinese Apps on all federal issued phones.

I also think a law needs to be in place stopping all the jerks out there, who love taking random photos and videos of the public, from snapping those creep shots. Then the people who want to give China all of their own personal information are free to do so.

There are so many American users of TikTok that post things without thinking. Some of that could be detrimental to the US, but whether it's owned by a company in China or the in the US doesn't really matter. If TikTok were to disappear, people would just find other apps to post on. Making TikTok owned by an American company at least puts some level of control in place,
