Am I wrong for playing with high ping?

I play my pc a lot. I am connected to an ethernet cable, but my ping is really high in all my games. Someone told me that I need to quit their match because my high ping is ruining it for everyone.

Yeah, high ping is incredibly annoying, because it means that you have bad internet connection and you’re unable to function in your game properly. So from your team mates point of view, you’re just standing in the corner of the map doing nothing and being a useless team member, but on your screen you’re still moving as normal. You shouldn’t play games with high ping, especially competitive games, because you are taking a team spot and being a useless team member when someone else could have played in the team and actually been a valuable team member.
