Do you or have you ever used a computer using Linux?

I have my laptop with Linux Mint and I love it to bits, I dunno if other people on here use it but was curious to ask. Do you or have you used it before?

Yes. I bought once a laptop without OS because I rejected windows 11. Installed Kubuntu for a while. It works for office if you aren't limited to MS office file format and for web rowsing better than windows. Even most steam games run without problems. From my games just two didn't run because need MS game pass BS.
Then I was forced to install windows 11 because one data base application I need for work runs on MS os exclusively. Without this app I wouldn't install windows again.
Performance was better, system was more responsive with Kubuntu on this Laptop even games felt smoother despite slightly lower fps due shitty Nvidia drivers on linux. New KDE is more user friendly than windows 11 ver. 10/2025 with 3 styles of system apps that is completely confusing for me as person who grow up with windows 8 and 10.

Somehow I consider to take those few hours work time and make dual boot on this laptop with Kubuntu and Windows 10 that I won't use for anything else just for this database access. Windows 11 is really a crap.

Yes, I used Kubuntu 15 years ago. Because Windows is annoying with unsupported operating systems and higher requirements, I'm considering switching back to Linux or just using an Android netbook.

I have a laptop I put Linux Mint on but I had an install problem with Zoom which was essential. About to try installing Zoom again and hoping that the problem is resolved by now.

Aside from that I find it very useable. A good deal better than Windows 11. I am still W7 because I decided not to donate to MS several years ago.

I've got about 9 computers running at the moment, and one of them is running Mint (it's on a second PC too, but that one is only running when needed). I also have Windows, Android, QTS (QNAP Turbo System), and UnRAID machines running at the moment. I'm not counting cloud-based instances, but I have a couple of those too.

I am currently running Mint on two computers at church. One of the software we require only runs on Windows. I have installed Winboat ( a Linux based software) to run that Windows software on Linux. I may upgrade to BigLinux; it has a few more capabilities over Mint.

I recommend seeing what you actually need and using the appropriate Linux to meet those needs!!!

Yes, Manjaro KDE for many years. But when the Linux ecosystem insisted on breaking my stuff by forcing incompatible things down my throat I went back to Windows. I am so much of a Windows power user that Linux just can't replace it. And its extremely frustrating to make slow progress towards a goal where Linux is good enough only to be further away than you were at the start because other people. decide your use cases are not important.

I am currently using Linux Mint 22.2 XFCE on this computer, and two other ones. Linux Mint is my favorite OS.

Linux is the operating system my company used on the computer control systems it sold to customers. It's highly reliable but it as easy to use as Windows.

Id consider using but on a test computer/laptop first not for my main work pc. A lot of my sofrwares aren't company with linux and ill have to learn how to use wine first and see if it's worth it.

Technically pretty much everyone has being that 96.4% of the top one million web servers run on Linux. So if you have used the internet before, you send requests to Linux computers pretty much every single time you click on a link or type in a url in your web browser.
