For people in tech, if you’re still a Microsoft person, why?

Its my job first of all. The kinda stuff I do I can't do with any other OS. I researched if it was remotely possible on Linux and its not. You can't properly run a corporate desktop experience on that platform, it lacks whats needed on many fronts.

At home I care a lot about backward compatibility, linux doesn't and intentionally breaks my stuff. I got fed up and just went back to Windows.

I know what your thinking, how about the awful UI changes, how about recall, how about being forced to use a TPM or a microsoft account. Are you that much of a windows slave that you are willing to put up with that? Answer is simple, I am a IT sysadmin who has a ton of experience with Windows. None of those things apply to me. I can use Windows with a local account, I have third party mods that restore the good UI, I break all the telemetry stuff, I modded the ISO to only accept local accounts and the LTSC edition I use doesn't force secure boot and TPM's. I currently even stuck with Windows 10 since I still get updates until 2032.

When you use that many windows power user features and can manipulate windows into being exactly what you want it to be its a nobrainer to stick with it. Yes its annoying that I have to coax windows into being what I want it to be but thats barely any work for me at this point. While getting Linux to do what I want it to do is impossible.

microsoft does so much various stuff that frustrated me many times! try going into microsoft edge settings try to switch off automatic download! to stop it, so you won't download a virus just kuz website automatic sent it! try to switch off pop-ups and redirects!

Because Microsoft is about 60% of the corporate tech stack. AWS and others are playing catchup.

Microsoft is what 90% of businesses use and I need to be proficient with it. I have used Apple OS as well and teach a UNIX Linux course.
