I prefer laptops for easier accessibility when sitting in my recliner, which is my usual preferred location for computer use, but I don't like the increasingly garbage batteries, low storage, and lack of optical drives that laptops have mostly devolved into containing.
Batteries also swell and warp laptops to the point that their keyboards then fail horribly.

I'd like to see a keyboard/screen ONLY combo unit that looks and feels similar to a laptop but isn't, that could be either hard-wired or Bluetoothed to a traditional desktop tower system.

I have to leave my laptops plugged in all the time anyway since the batteries are lousy, so one cable going to a tower would be as the same thing to me.

I've yet to find such a handy peripheral setup.

Primarily desktop, though I also have laptops, because I have to work in the field quite a bit.

But most of my computing is done in my office, on a desktop with a curved 32" 4K HDR monitor, ergo mouse, 4K camera, Shure mic, and 6.5" 2-way near-field monitor speakers. You're never going to get that kind of experience from a laptop, and my setup allows me to be working on several different tasks at once - often I will set something up (like a video render) and then switch to some other task while the computer works on it, and this kind of workload would melt a laptop or thermal-throttle it so bad it would cry. You just can't beat a desktop for serious work.

I'm a laptop person who uses it like a desktop. It's almost always on the desk in my home office, with its power adapter plugged in so it's not running on battery power, and a second monitor connected to it.

At work we all had similar setups, company laptops with external monitors attached.

There's something deliciously seductive about watching a submissive slave strapped to a chair, their hands bound with leather cuffs as they struggle to escape the confines of a laptop screen. The smooth, cool surface of a laptop's touchpad is a perfect target for a flogger, and the sound of a whip cracking against it is a symphony to my ears. The weight of a laptop on a lap is a physical reminder of who is in control, and the sight of a submissive's eyes darting back and forth between the screen and me is a turn-on beyond measure.

Say what do you make of some recent American news article I read from like a week ago or less tonight something about the views of masculinity in America today and blah blah blah Harris running as the second woman officially you know after Mrs Clinton so it's like, you know, a) what is a man in the modern sense you know and b) does that even matter in a society lol after all, nobody has to go in modern day society hunting gathering anymore they just go to work and go to a grocery store or even have it delivered nowadays lol to their home and C) why some folks so insecure you know like you know I think that's also more telling broadly speaking how, if some people are insecure, then that says more about the individual versus the broader 'look I'm comfortable in my own skin, I'm a realist and I see my reflection. P. S. those grizzly bears in America, especially Alaska, by far the most fearsome creatures to my mind. If you ask me, any human or American you know if they really appreciated how fearsome and scary those bears are, it makes one really appreciate the humble safe secure modern society we all have you know that, those bears are vicious and frighteningly big, even a macho man or a heavily muscled man I think would be extremely humbled by the way those things are just, yeah horrifying creatures. Just pure animals 😞😔 those grizzlies.

That's among other reasons even before hand, I really love totem poles and respect native Americans as much as my own natives around here, you know, first people - having to live amongst those grizzlies or endure that, those native Americans deserve the highest respect mmm. 🥳

Google and Wikipedia are a fine resource where I read once how to the likes of Lewis and Clark "the native Americans would treat hunting a bear or a bear spotted in or near camp the same way they'd prepare as much ceremony and war paint as going to war, reverently" or words to that effect - man those bears are terrifying. Anyways :) respect to the Natives and their totem poles 💈

I use a desktop with gaming graphics for work since the software I use for lighting design is graphics card heavy. Even though I've got a gaming laptop with a good graphics card it thermal throttles much quicker and slows me down.

@LiamJHayden I'm impressed by three women so far who voted Desktop aka Tower computers - fascinating - as more women vote laptops + I'd be very curious to know if their 20s women, 30s plus women etc or if they're more girly girl or tomboyish or whatever just because demographics and consumer choices, and *the why's* both fascinate me. The why someone picks one brand other another or one design over another - usually humans themselves know why they do why they do and why 😄 they do it lol
