There's a song my band wrote where I eventually got the idea to play three different drum parts during the guitar solo section but I never knew which one I was gonna play at a gig until I got to the solo. If I recorded all three versions of that section, and burned the song to a CD, or even if all three version of the entire song were recorded to the CD, is there a way to program the CD to randomly pick one each time the album or just the song is played?

Even if this is possible you aren't going to find a plant to do this for you.
There is only one way I can think off that is an extreme maybe and very unlikely.
The low tech solution will make much more sense. Burn 3 identical looking disks and have all of them in your bag.
That doesn't solve the problem, either.
Whatever you want to listen to separately has to be on separate tracks for the CD player to go to it. Like for example you can record three different versions of the song, or record three different drum solos
Can I get it to play each one randomly? Seems to me I've seen it done with a DVD.
You could burn a CD with three versions of the song and put the CD player on shuffle
Yeah, but that's not the same. I wanted it to be as random as me playing it live: never knowing what was going to come until I played it.
No. Burn the three separate tracks and set your device to "random shuffle"
How is it done on DVD's?
