There's rumors on the Internet that Elon or Tesla makes these but it's not true. Elon bought this pad to place next to SpaceX. To make sure this wasn't a hoax like the Tesla phone, I decided to ask Elon's own Grok AI. Yep, he lives in this tiny minimalist prefab as his primary residence. It's hard to believe, but then I remembered that Einstein used to sleep 3 hours a day in a cot so he could be close to work. 😁

$50k is a good deal for that. It looks nice. He will be sleeping most of the time when he is there. I like that he sold his mansions and now lives near his work. He is doing great things and we, mankind, should be thankful. Enjoy my Tesla and am enamored with Starship. If Starship gets to Mars first Musk will be immortalized. It is awesome that he is packing his robots to go there on the first set of rockets.

I had a chat with Grok last night. The Optimus robots will be in factories this year. In 2027 they will be available for sale to the public. They're going to be pretty expensive until they ramp up production and then they'll be about 20,000 bucks.

Elon must have a big house somewhere because I don't know where he keeps his wife and kids. 😁

I wonder what they will be capable of? Robot vacuums aren’t very useful to me and we had a couple if good ones. I guess they will have grok on them. They dan be alarm systems I suppose. Can they empty the dishwasher and fill it with rinsed dirty dishes I wonder? Can they come to the garage and help bring in groceries? Can they do yard work or shovel snow? Can they do plumbing and electrical work around the house and even add an addition? In 15 years perhaps, but perhaps soon.

Optimus's hand has 25 motors in it. Elon says it was the most complicated part of making the robot.
And not only that, the hands can sense temperature. So if you tell it to get a cold beverage out of the refrigerator it will know which ones are which.
