What pissed you off recently?

Yesterday my cousin came over and he is really good at chess, has a rating of 1700 and is a state level player. So we had a nice talk and I told him to review this long gameplay I had recently on chess. com where I lost. And he agreed, he reviewed it and told me where I could have improved and ended with a draw.

Then he casually played few rounds of chess from my account and no one thought much and he left and we had a good time blah blah blah.

Today I worked out at the park and came back home and checked my gmail and saw this

I checked the app and yeah, my account was really disabled. I checked their Fair Play Policy. They disabled my account because the last few gameplays probably seemed too advanced for a 300 elo player so it seemed like I cheated.

That account was 2 years old 😭 I decided to appeal but then what reasoning would I give? That my 1700 elo cousin played from my account? Because hey, in a way or other it was cheating.

This pissed me off and ruined my morning, I made a new account and no one's playing chess from my device ever again.

That's hard for me articulate. Because not much sets me off. I'm the type of guy that regardless of the situation I'm going to work the problem and come up with a solution. But what angers me is a moving goalpost. We're not all playing by the same rules in life. I've always pursued the F. I. R. E. method (Financial, Independence, Retire, Early) I decided to forgo things when I was young for this. Now I'm trying to retire early and it's proving more difficult than I'd anticipated. Theoretically speaking I make about twice what I budgeted I need to live. But retirement plans are designed to keep you working till 59 1/2. You can still access that money via a SEPP plan without taking a penalty. But there are rules (understandably) that restrict your withdrawals. But you cannot change those withdrawals after you have set them in motion. And with skyrocketing cost of housing and Healthcare the need for change could be a necessity.

I don't expect to live to a ripe old age. But the years I have left I'd like to enjoy. And I get how given the avg. debt in this country my complaining can seem like high maintenance problems. Believe me I haven't got it like that. And I sacrificed to have all that I have.

I'm in a bit of a shitty situation right now and a lot of people are really pissing me off. But this morning, someone who has been trying to force a situation where I accept their help so that they can be seen offering help kinda overplayed their hand with me and tried to guilt me as if they haven't been wasting my time for the last week.

It's not like I didn't appreciate them. But also, when you take advantage of the page try of helping me and then reneg on your word over something you not only knew about but is out of my control, it shows me what kind of person you are. Especially when you try to frame it to other people as me biting a hand trying to feed me. Like fuck off dude.

It's not like anyone believes him anyway. It's just I put a lot of effort into my relationship with them. It's one thing to abandon me when I'm fucked it's another thing to keep taking from me as iff I owe you something. Pussy.

I just realized… angry isn’t really in my dictionary bc I went blank for a good min😶

But I suddenly remember o yeah I was slightly mad at my end of shift today bc my company can be super disorganized and I was slightly blamed for something that wasn’t my responsibility. But I completely forgot about it once I got home lol. I rarely get mad… unless it’s about a boy I’m involved with who’s getting me mad lmao.

What actually pissed me off recently was watching my friend get pulled over for no real reason…

Well, I guess they did have reasons:
‘We thought the car was stolen’
and ‘We thought this apartment complex was for seniors…’

It just made me wonder how often people get stopped based on assumptions rather than anything real.

Normally, when I need to go somewhere, I walk down to the bus stop about 10:00 before it's due (at around 14 after) and end up having to wait another 20:00 or more for it to show up!! Today, I left here about 5:00 before it was due, it's a 3:00 walk, and I get there about :90 after it's due (16 after) and it never showed up or came early, for a change!! While walking to the stop, I can see the bus coming about 1/4 mile before the stop and there was nothing coming down that hill! So, after waiting half an hour, I went across the street to catch the next bus going the opposite direction so I could go buy some food and stood THERE for almost 20:00 waiting for a bus that SHOULD'VE come about 5:00 after I got there!! IT never showed up, either so, I had to climb this really steep hill to come back home having accomplished NOTHING!!!

A short list of people that have pissed me off in the past ten days:

1) Some fucking asshole driving in the wrong direction of traffic (Yes, this actually happened).

2) Another asshole who holds up the line by calling his girlfriend on the phone and then she asks him about the entire menu - and proceeds tell her while there is an entire line behind him. Does this fucker not realize that there are people behind him who need to order their food and need to get back to work?

3) People who never shut the fuck up. Ever. I have several of these at work.

What does this account really mean to you though? I mean I get what it is to lose a game account in which you had friends logged in and cash invested, but in the case of chess dot com, what do you lose?

well for me i ordered a chocolate peanut butter shake from this ice cream place through ubereats only they ran out of milk so they couldn’t make it. So i tried to get a refund but they couldn’t do it because i cancelled the order because their customer service number was confusing af! I couldn’t easily find a way to actually talk to someone and get my refund. So i lost $20 there smh. I think they make it confusing on purpose!

I used to play pogo games. com I was a checkers master undefeated 35 an 0 i even paid the $20 membership a long time ago and I used their chat room to talk and I got in a fight with 10 people and they kicked me out and i lost my $20. I’m not gonna join the sites anymore. and waste my money I was new and 10 people teamed up on me. 30 minutes later, I was banned and lost my money never again am I going to join that website

I think you handled this situation very well. You also learned that letting somebody who's much better than you are play on your account can be problematic. If your cousin had played about the way you play, or even more poorly, then I don't think there would have been a problem.

I'd say do the appeal and say something that you were just running a chess game and got lucky, and if the website tells you or marks where you can and can't then it will be easier to finesse by saying that you guessed a lot on that game or something
